When I discovered this gorgeous sparkling VINTAGE Brooch I was instantly reminded of the black and white Cornish Flag of St Piran. I have converted the piece into a pendant and used FRESHWATER PEARLS and light reflecting black crystal to create the necklet which I have finished with a gold plated clasp and extension chain. The pendant measures 5cms x 5cms long and the necklace is 16.5” long with an additional 2” extension chain for versatility of length. The piece will be presented in an organza drawstring bag with descriptive card of authentication, perfect for giving or to keep. Only ONE in the world!
My passion is to re-purpose once loved vintage and antique jewellery, largely found in and around Cornwall marrying with sterling silver, gemstones, pearls and sometimes sea glass creating new pieces to treasure. The stunning coastline and the flora and fauna of the county is a source of inspiration, not to mention the myth and legend surrounding the county, together with tales of smugglers and pirates in bygone days. Each unique design is created in my studio close to the sea in Mevagissey.
KARA ARTA is Cornish for ‘LOVE AGAIN’. Unique jewellery designs using vintage, antique and found materials. Vintage/Antique items may show minimal signs of wear in their previous life.
