Pirate Necklace 'CAP'N JACK' Assemblage Jewellery Necklace
Pirate Necklace 'CAP'N JACK' Assemblage Jewellery Necklace
Cap’n Jack was a handsome fellow in his time, he stole hearts and goods around the high seas and foreign lands. His ship, full to the gunwales with plunder, went down in a storm as he returned home to Cornwall one winter’s night. He stayed on board with his valuable cargo along with 12 loyal crew. Spin us a yarn!
My Capn’ Jack necklace is a totally one off piece inspired by tales of smugglers and pirates who roamed the seas around Cornwall many years ago. The Cap’n Jack pendant has a crystal eye and a large freshwater pearl hangs from the pendant. Among the earliest men to wear pearls were royalty and nobility, from Chinese royals in 2300 BC to Indian Maharajas. Polynesian warriors, known for their ferociousness, wore pearls as a sign of power and as amulets. During the 16th century Sir Francis Drake was presented with a large pearl by Queen Elizabeth I. The sea captain and privateer wore the pearl with great pride.
The necklet is made up of 12 little skulls representing the 12 crew perished, together with freshwater pearls and light reflecting crystal. The necklace measures 17.5” (45cms) with an additional 1.5” (4cms) STERLING SILVER Extension Chain meaning the necklace can be worn up to a length of around 19” (49cms). The extension chain is finished with a GARNET Bead. The Pendant measures 5cms x 5cms at widest and lngest points.
